Recommended Video: Julia Fischer Plays Brahms Violin Concerto

This is a recording by arte, from a live concert taken the Radio France Auditorium, Paris, on September 12, 2024

Julia Fischer performs the Brahms Violin Concerto, a work she has performed for many years, with the Orchestre National de France under Cristian Măcelaru. She also gives two encores for solo violin by Bach and Paganini.

Măcelaru then continues to conduct the orchestra in a rarely performed work by French composer Elsa Barraine, a contemporary of Dukas. Duruflé, and Messiaen, here represented with her Symphony No.2.

The program finishes with an expertise of this orchestra, Debussy’s “Images pour orchestre”.
