Gramophone Award For Record Of The Year 2018 Announced

Gramophone Magazine has announced its selection of record of the year for 2018, awarded to John Nelson and Erato for performance of Berlioz’s opera, “Les Troyens”.

In a ceremony in London the magazine has also awarded prizes for “young artist of the year” (Lisa Davidsen) and “label of the year” (Harmonia Mundi).

The prestigious “Artist Of The Year” award went to Rachel Podger, who released a much anticipated performance of Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” this year.

The “orchestra of the year” award went to the Seattle Symphony orchestra.

Also in the ceremony, conductor Neeme Järvi was awarded the “lifetime achievement award”.
